5.2 Cookies

We use cookies on our website. These are small files that your browser automatically creates and that are stored on your device (laptop, tablet, smartphone, etc.) when you visit our website. Cookies do not cause any damage to your device and do not contain any viruses, Trojans or other malware.

The cookie stores information that is related to the specific device used. However, this does not mean that we receive direct knowledge of your identity.

The use of cookies serves, on the one hand, to make the use of our services more pleasant for you. For example, we use so-called session cookies to recognize that you have already visited individual pages of our website. These are automatically deleted after you leave our site.

In addition, we also use temporary cookies to optimize user-friendliness. These cookies are stored on your device for a specific period of time. If you visit our site again to use our services, it will automatically recognize that you have already visited us and what entries and settings you have made so that you do not have to enter them again.

We also use cookies to statistically record the use of our website and to evaluate it for the purpose of optimizing our offer for you. These cookies enable us to automatically recognize that you have already visited our site when you visit it again. These cookies are automatically deleted after a defined period of time.

The data processed by cookies are necessary for the purposes mentioned to protect our legitimate interests and those of third parties in accordance with Art. 6 (1) sentence 1 lit. f GDPR.

Most browsers automatically accept cookies. However, you can configure your browser so that no cookies are stored on your computer or so that a warning always appears before a new cookie is created. However, completely disabling cookies may mean that you cannot use all the functions of our website.

6. Analysis tools

The tracking measures listed below and used by us are carried out on the basis of Art. 6 Paragraph 1 Clause 1 Letter f of GDPR. With the tracking measures used, we want to ensure that our website is designed to meet your needs and is continuously optimized. On the other hand, we use the tracking measures to statistically record the use of our website and to evaluate it for the purpose of optimizing our offer for you. These interests are to be regarded as legitimate within the meaning of the aforementioned provision.

The respective data processing purposes and data categories can be found in the corresponding tracking tools.

– Google Analytics

For the purpose of needs-based design and continuous optimization of our pages, we use Google Analytics, a web analysis service of Google Inc. (https://www.google.de/intl/de/about/) (1600 Amphitheatre Parkway, Mountain View, CA 94043, USA; hereinafter referred to as "Google"). In this context, pseudonymised user profiles are created and cookies (see section 4) are used. The information generated by the cookie about your use of this website, such as

  • browser type/version,
  • operating system used,
  • Referrer URL (the previously visited page),
  • Hostname of the accessing computer (IP address),
  • time of the server request,

are transferred to a Google server in the USA and stored there. The information is used to evaluate the use of the website, to compile reports on website activity and to provide other services related to website activity and internet usage for the purposes of market research and needs-based design of these Internet pages. This information may also be transferred to third parties if this is required by law or if third parties process this data on behalf of Google. Under no circumstances will your IP address be merged with other data held by Google. The IP addresses are anonymized so that they cannot be assigned to a specific user (IP masking).

You may prevent the installation of cookies by setting your browser software accordingly; however, we would like to point out that in this case you may not be able to use all functions of this website to their full extent.

You can also prevent Google from collecting the data generated by the cookie and relating to your use of the website (including your IP address) and from processing this data by installing a Download and install browser add-on (https://tools.google.com/dlpage/gaoptout?hl=de).

As an alternative to the browser add-on, especially for browsers on mobile devices, you can also prevent Google Analytics from collecting data by clicking on this link. An opt-out cookie will be set that prevents your data from being collected in the future when you visit this website. The opt-out cookie is only valid in this browser and only for our website and is stored on your device. If you delete the cookies in this browser, you must set the opt-out cookie again.

Further information on data protection in connection with Google Analytics can be found in the Google Analytics Help (https://support.google.com/analytics/answer/6004245?hl=de).

– Google Adwords Conversion Tracking

We also use Google Conversion Tracking to statistically record the use of our website and to evaluate it for the purpose of optimizing our website for you. Google Adwords places a cookie (see section 4) on your computer if you have accessed our website via a Google ad.

These cookies expire after 30 days and are not used for personal identification. If the user visits certain pages of the Adwords customer's website and the cookie has not yet expired, Google and the customer can recognize that the user clicked on the ad and was redirected to this page.

Each Adwords customer receives a different cookie. Cookies cannot therefore be tracked across Adwords customers' websites. The information obtained using the conversion cookie is used to create conversion statistics for Adwords customers who have opted for conversion tracking. Adwords customers learn the total number of users who clicked on their ad and were redirected to a page with a conversion tracking tag. However, they do not receive any information that can be used to personally identify users.

If you do not wish to participate in the tracking process, you can also refuse the setting of a cookie required for this purpose - for example, by using a browser setting that generally deactivates the automatic setting of cookies. You can also deactivate cookies for conversion tracking by setting your browser so that cookies from the domain "www.googleadservices.com“ may be blocked. Google’s privacy policy on conversion tracking can be found here (https://services.google.com/sitestats/de.html).

7. Social Media

7.1. Use

We use social plugins (“plugins”) from the social networks Facebook and Instagram on our website on the basis of Art. 6 Paragraph 1 Clause 1 Letter f of GDPR in order to make our company better known. The advertising purpose behind this is to be regarded as a legitimate interest within the meaning of the GDPR. The responsibility for data protection-compliant operation must be guaranteed by their respective providers. We integrate these plugins using the so-called two-click method in order to protect visitors to our website as best as possible.

7.2. Facebook & Instagram

This offer uses so-called social plug-ins of the social network facebook.com (“Facebook”) and instagram.com (“Instagram”) of the Meta Group (Facebook Ireland Ltd., 4 Grand Canal Square, Dublin 2, Ireland) (“Meta”). The plug-ins are identified by one of the logos of the social network (a white “F” on a blue background and the “Insta camera”).

If a user visits a website of this service that contains such a plugin, their browser establishes a connection with the Meta server. The content of these plug-ins is transmitted directly from Meta to their server, which then integrates it into the website. OPTICAL ART Digital & Film GmbH has no influence on the scope of the data that Meta collects using this plug-in.

According to our knowledge, Meta receives the information that a user has accessed a page on our website through the integration of plug-ins. If a user of the OPTICAL ART Digital & Film GmbH online service is simultaneously logged into Facebook with their "log-in data", Facebook can assign the visit to our website to the user's Facebook account. If the user interacts with the plug-in (for example by clicking on the so-called "Like button" or leaving a comment), this information is transmitted from your browser to Facebook and stored there.

Even without membership in the social network Facebook or Instagram, Meta is able to find out IP addresses. According to Meta, however, only anonymized IP addresses are stored.

Further information about the processing and use of data by Meta as well as the purpose and scope of data collection can be found in the privacy policies of Facebook and Instagram. There you will also find information about your rights and setting options for protecting the privacy of use: https://www.facebook.com/privacy/center/ or https://privacycenter.instagram.com/

Furthermore, the user has the right to correct incorrect data, as well as to delete or block his personal data, provided that they are not subject to any statutory retention period.

OPTICAL ART Digital & Film GmbH will be happy to provide the customer and other users of the website with further information on request about which data is stored and how it is used. Our security measures are continuously improved in line with technological developments.
