With The Seed of the Sacred Fig as the German Oscar entry, Wonderland as the most successful german cinema documentary, Nord bei Nordwest and the Tatort Münster as the most popular crime thriller, the recently released children's film Niko – Beyond the Northern Lights and all the other great productions, we have earned us a little break between the years and hope to see you all in 2025 again.
Thank you all and here’s to a great year 2025!
Niko 3 - Beyond the Northern Lights

Niko is a flying reindeer boy whose biggest dream is to become a member of Santa's flying forces. But instead he loses Santa's sleigh and during pursuit to get it back he learns the importance of friendship and doing things your own way. In addition to the gripping and exciting story, the magical atmosphere in this magical world invites you to go to the cinema and is a lovely adventure about friends, family and Niko's courage to go his own way and to find out what he really wants.
We supported Niko in color correction and mastering and wish you a great time in theaters!

In August 2024, The Seed of the Sacred Fig Tree was selected as the German entry for the category Best International Film the 2025 Oscars. We keep our fingers crossed for this outstanding film.
The Iranian-German-French Arte France co-production was produced from Hamburg by the production film company RunWay Pictures and supported by Moin Filmförderung. Hamburg film editor Andrew Bird was responsible for editing the political drama.
In Germany, the film is scheduled to premiere at the end of September as part of the Hamburg Film Festival. A regular theatrical release in German-speaking Switzerland is planned for November 2024, and in Germany and Austria for the end of December 2024.
From Darkness to Light
We are delighted about the international premiere of “From Darkness to Light” at the Venice Film Festival!
The documentary film “From Darkness to Light” by the US director Michael Lurie and the German-Australian documentary filmmaker Eric Friedler sheds light on the history of the film “The Day the Clown Cried", shows the making of the film as well as Jerry Lewis' decades-long struggle with his work. The documentary contains several minutes of original material as well as one of the last interviews Lewis gave about the film before his death.
In Venice The documentary is shown in the Classics section, which is dedicated to documentaries about cinema.

Second Grading Cinema in Hamburg...
In collaboration with Studio Funk, we are now offering another 4K grading cinema in Hamburg. A new 7m wide screen was installed there and a 300m fiber optic connection to the Optical Art Datacenter was created, where the image and sound data can be transported uncompressed and without latency.
With the Baselight Remote Console, our Baselights can then be controlled remotely, so that all data remains secure, on-premise, at Optical Art.
The first project that we were able to successfully complete in the new grading cinema was the Cannes winner: “The Seed of the Sacred Fig” by Mohammad Rasoulof.
